BATHURST police are appealing for public assistance after two girls were followed by a man in a car on Friday afternoon.
The two girls, aged 11 and 9, were walking along Dees Close, Gormans Hill, about 4pm when a silver Mazda utility began to follow them at slow speed.
The windows were down and the driver was seen to be a Caucasian male, aged between 40 and 50, with olive skin and wearing a blue singlet and grey shorts.
The girls ran to their home and informed their parents, who contacted police. The utility drove to the end of the cul-de-sac before driving from the area.
The driver of the vehicle did not speak to the girls, however he was seen to be staring at them.
His actions were considered suspicious and police would like to speak to him.
The vehicle is believed to have a partial registration of ADC ***.
Anyone with information on the vehicle or the driver is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Bathurst police on 6332 8699.
