If Midsomer Murders aired an episode set after a techno-apocalypse had erased almost all human life from the world in an instant, it would be a bit like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.
In a quaint English country town, the player – left behind alone – chases weird electric memories left in the air to relive the events leading to rapture and experience the harrowing last moments of the townsfolk. Pretty and well realised, the now eerie town feels all-too-recently lived in.
The game's slow, but with a web of emotionally affecting stories and an orchestral score to match, it's definitely memorable.
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is out now for PlayStation 4, at an RRP of $29.95.
