In the lead up to Christmas, Macquarie Mall will be home to a series of festive-themed activations including a spectacular Christmas tree, illuminated giant bauble and a fairy light tree corridor.
Liverpool mayor Wendy Waller said with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions continuing across the state, Liverpool Council were able to provide residents with a much-needed "sprinkle of joy".
One of the feature events will be Christmas in Carnes Hill on Saturday, December 18 from 4pm to 9pm at the Carnes Hill Community and Recreation Precinct..
"For one night only, Carnes Hill will be a wonderland filled with everyone's favourite festive traditions including carols on the lawn, arts and crafts workshops and activities the whole family can enjoy including a visit from Santa and his elves," Ms Waller said.
"There will also be Christmas markets where visitors will be able to purchase a homemade gift and enjoy a Christmas-themed treat while supporting our local artisans and makers.
"Council's Libraries will also host free Christmas activities for our youngest residents throughout December including festive fables presented in-person at Casula and Carnes Hill Library, as well as online.
"There will also be craft workshops during the school holidays and as well as an exciting Christmas pop-up photobooth at Liverpool City and Carnes Hill Library, where families can use the green-screen set up to select a virtual background which can be sent digitally for an easy and fun Christmas greeting card."
