New cases linked to West Hoxton party, attendees in isolation

Eleven people who are linked to a birthday party in West Hoxton have tested positive for COVID-19.

NSW Health today announced 18 new cases of community transition in the 24 hours to 8pm last night (13 of which were announced yesterday morning), and another six recorded after the 8pm cut-off.

Eight of yesterday's confirmed cases were linked to the West Hoxton party, which was also attended by a previously reported case linked to the Bondi cluster.

NSW Health said about 30 people attended the party, all of whom have been tested and are currently in isolation.

Additional guests tested positive after the 8pm deadline yesterday.

NSW Health said almost 50,000 COVID-19 tests were administered yesterday and thanked the community for continuing to come forward and get tested.

There are more than 300 testing sites in NSW, including a drive-through site at Fairfield Showground.
