This year's Bring It On! Festival may have been a bit different this year but it still brought the action.
The festival, one of Australia's biggest Youth Week events was livestreamed via the Fairfield City Youth Facebook page on April 16 after it was cancelled in 2020.
The celebration took place on a smaller scale across Prairiewood, Fairfield and Bonnyrigg youth centres with limited numbers available at each site.
Local artists including Jessica Jade, DanceKool, DMC, the DM SZN, DJ DPAK, DJ STICKY, Kookies N Kream, Dani Madeline, Gemma Navarrete, Midnight Dreamers and Alicia Vares took to the stage.
Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves at the event.
"It was wonderful to see so many young people celebrating together at Bring It On! after such a challenging year," he said.
"Our city's youth are a resilient, bright and diverse generation and council is proud to provide such fun and exciting opportunities for them to express themselves."
Cr Carbone told the Champion last week that Bring It On! On Tour was Fairfield's first major event since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the city's celebrations in March last year.
"The Bring It On! Festival is a special and important celebration of our city's young people; and their skills, passions and strengths; through music, sport and performance," Mayor Carbone said.
"For years it has been a must-see event for thousands of teens and young adults and I am pleased that in 2021 we have been able to bring it back, despite restrictions."
