There's no getting around it - Nobody is very much like John Wick.
The new over-the-top action movie from director Ilya Naishuller (Hardcore Henry) has a very similar premise to the much-loved 2014 Keanu Reeves film.
Baddies break into a seemingly regular guy's house, and have no idea that they really should have picked a different house.
Just like with Mr Wick, Bob Odenkirk's Hugh Mansell is a dude not to be messed with.
A former military 'auditor' ("the last guy you want to see at your door"), Mansell doesn't take too kindly to the robbery when he discovers his daughter's kitty cat bracelet is missing. That final straw sees Mansell head out the door with a mind to do some serious damage.
He dispenses with a group of drunken, belligerent youths who hop on his bus, but little does he know, those youths are tied up with the Russian mob.
While not as stylish as John Wick, Nobody takes itself far less seriously in its mission to wreak havoc on faceless goons in a variety of different ways.
If you like silly action movies, it's hard not to like Nobody.
There's aren't too many one-liners or memorable costumes or anything, but there's a lot of joy to be had in seeing bad guys get just completely annihilated but one fed up suburban dad.
The run time, clocking in at a touch over an hour and a half, is admirably short and sweet and a great escape from your day. Add in a little bit of unexpected music, like Frank Sinatra and Pat Benatar, and you've got a winner.
This type of movie is certainly not going to win any Oscars, but it's still got plenty of appeal.
Joining Odenkirk is Back to the Future's Christopher Lloyd, still awesome and rocking high-powered weapons at age 82 and Wonder Woman's Connie Nielsen, who admittedly doesn't have a lot to do in the film.
Nobody leaves itself open for sequels, but whether any are necessary is another question. As much as John Wick's sequels were a good time, the expanded universe was a bit much, and it'd be a shame to see Nobody go down the same path.
There's a quick mid-credit sequence to watch out for, so just hang back a tick before you leave the cinema.
