Rain has scuppered Victoria's push for a Sheffield Shield win against Tasmania, with the match called off on the final day at the MCG.
The Bushrangers finished at 1-122 chasing 253 to win.
Peter Handscomb (54) and Marcus Harris (45) had formed an unbroken 95-run partnership with victory looking well within reach, but two rain delays wiped out much of the day's playing time.
Eventually, Handscomb and opposition captain Jackson Bird agreed to pull the pin, the clash ending in a draw.
It was a bitter pill for the home side as the 'passing showers' predicted in Melbourne instead set in as they sought a second win of the season.
"It was very disappointing considering the way we played today," Victoria coach Chris Rogers said.
"It looked pretty positive that we were going to chase down the total."
Former Test teammates Handscomb and Harris had looked as assured as anyone on what has been a tricky MCG wicket.
Handscomb scored at almost a run a ball and Harris offered excellent support, the total looking more than achievable as they built the innings.
Nic Maddinson had set the tone for a more aggressive display on Monday, moving to 20 with two boundaries before losing his wicket caught behind.
Former Victoria quick Peter Siddle (1-16) got a little deviation off the pitch to find Maddinson's edge, leaving the home side at 1-27.
But the experienced pairing of Handscomb and Harris quickly found their rhythm before the rain took its toll.
Handscomb finished with two half-centuries in a low-scoring match and was the standout alongside the Tigers' Jake Doran who compiled 98 and 52.
"Jake applied himself really well yesterday. He had a pretty simple game plan and backed up some handy runs he got for us in the first innings," Bird said.
"It's good to see Dores bat that way ... we are thrilled the way he went about it this week."
Victoria will play Tasmania in a one-day fixture at St Kilda on Wednesday before flying to Queensland for another Shield clash starting next Monday at the Gabba.
The Tigers' next four-day game is against NSW in Hobart, starting March 20.
