Detectives have charged a man allegedly involved in a public place shooting at Bonnyrigg last year. Emergency services were called to Tarlington Parade, just before 11.30pm on Monday, August 31, 2020, after shots were fired into a house. Nine people - including two children - were home at the time but none were injured. Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was forensically examined. Detectives will allege the incident was part of an ongoing conflict between two groups in the area, which saw a series of public shootings in September last year. Following extensive investigations, detectives stopped a Toyota Hilux utility on Young Street, Mount Pritchard, about 5.45am today. The driver, a 19-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station. As part of inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at the man's home in Mount Pritchard about 7am, seizing cannabis. The man was charged with firing a firearm at a dwelling-house with disregard for safety and possessing a prohibited drug. He was refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court today. Inquiries continue.
