A sculpture of an elephant - the favorite animal of the late Wendy Tesoriero - is the centrepiece of the new Carnes Hill Library garden.

Liverpool Council dedicated the garden in memory of the former branch librarian who lost her life in a traffic accident in February 2020. Wendy worked in local government libraries for almost 20 years and was passionate about working with youths and schools to support their involvement in the library.

"Wendy was an amazing team member at Carnes Hill Library, and we are proud to dedicate this garden in memory of her outstanding commitment to making the library a welcoming place for all," Mayor Waller said.

"Wendy's memory will live on through her family, friends, colleagues and now through this beautiful garden for all to visit and enjoy."
