Macarthur FC has signed its third international player - and second Spaniard - with Markel Susaeta announced yesterday as the Bulls' latest recruit.
Susaeta's move to the fledgling club will see him reunited with his former Athletic Bilbao teammate Benat, who was announced last week.
Susaeta has played 12 seasons of professional football in Spain, including 507 matches for Athletic Bilbao.
He played 10 games with Melbourne City last season before returning to Europe at the beginning of the pandemic.
Bulls coach Ante Milicic said he was delighted to welcome the Spaniard.
"I'd like to welcome Markel to the club," he said.
"We got a little taste of what his is capable of in the A-League last season. I'm looking forward to seeing him link back with Benat on the pitch across the season.
"Both Markel and Benat joining is a real coup for the club. Their ability and experience will be invaluable.
"I'm extremely happy with the shape of and balance the squad is taking and looking forward to seeing his influence on the younger members of the squad."
Susaeta will begin training with his new teammates after completing 14 days of mandatory quarantine.
Macarthur FC joins the A-League for the 2020/21 season, which kicks off on December 27. They will play home games out of Campbelltown Stadium and train at Fairfield Showground.
