Detectives have laid charges following an investigation into the alleged stabbing of a man at Liverpool earlier this month.
About 7pm on Friday, November 6 , emergency services were called to a home at O'Brien Street following reports a man had been stabbed by a man known to him.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and located a 36-year-old man with a serious stab wound to his hand.
Police were told the man was stabbed with a meat cleaver by another man, before he fled the scene.
The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 41-year-old man at Smart Street, Fairfield, about noon on Tuesday, November 17.
He was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and reckless wounding.
The man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.
