It was a perfect weekend for the Fairfield Liverpool Lions with four wins across Saturday and Sunday.
Fresh off re-signing with the Sydney Thunder, all-rounder Arjun Nair took 4-56 to bowl the Lions to their first win of the NSW Premier Cricket season against Campbelltown-Camden at Raby Oval.
Param Uppal (2-32) and Josh Baraba (3-56) helped dismiss the hosts for 244 to give the Lions a 12-run win. Second grade had to settle for first innings points after a dominant week one display.
On Sunday, the Lions started their Twenty20 Cup campaign with a 33-run win against Western Suburbs at Pratten Park.
Nair (55 and 2-19) played a vital role with bat and ball and Luke Ohrynowsky hit 52 in their total of 7-169. Opening bowler Baraba had busy weekend taking 2-18 in the first grade Twenty20 and 1-18 as the Poidevin-Gray Shield team started their title defence with a dominant seven wicket win against Western Suburbs.
