Early construction works for Liverpool Civic Place are expected to begin in late 2020 following the recent approval of the Concept Master Plan by the Sydney Western City Planning Panel.
The project, which is located at 52 Scott Street in the CBD, will include council offices and council chambers, library and community hub, childcare facility and a civic plaza.
"This is a key milestone in the delivery of one of the most significant projects in Liverpool," Liverpool mayor Mayor Waller said.
"Council and project partners Built are focused on delivering a catalytic, mixed-use development that will be an asset to the community for generations to come. It will also activate the southern end of Liverpools CBD and will be an important stimulus to the local economy."
Mayor Waller said Liverpool Civic Place - which will also include council and public car parking, a 24-level tower to accommodate a combination of commercial, retail and education spaces and a nine-level hotel or student accommodation building - was part of more than $1 billion worth of major mixed-use developments in the pipeline for Liverpool.
"As the gateway to Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and home to the Liverpool Innovation Precinct, the state-of-the-art Liverpool Civic Place development is one of numerous Council-led projects in the pipeline that will enhance the vibrancy and investment potential of Sydney's third CBD," Mayor Waller said.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
