I am excited to tell you about a new opportunity at Liverpool's world-class arts institution Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
If you're an artist, you have the chance to answer the call to be part of CPAC's program in 2021. The team at Casula Powerhouse is accepting ideas, big or small, from artists to stage exhibitions and performances next year.
The artist callout is an opportunity for members of our creative community to pitch their proposal and turn it into a reality. Casula Powerhouse is home to six exhibition spaces, a performance space, a 320-seat theatre, workshop spaces and a variety of annual events.
Your ideas could be shown to audiences in any of these spaces. The year 2020 is proving to be a difficult one for the arts community due to coronavirus with many festivals and events cancelled or postponed.
The artist callout presents new opportunities. It's your last chance to be part of the fun. This is the final callout because submissions close on Friday, July 31. You'll find more information at casulapowerhouse.com.
In these challenging times, I'd also like to encourage our community to keep supporting local businesses.
Council has created a Local Business Directory of the businesses that are open across the Liverpool Local Government Area and would welcome your continued support.
You can eat local by dining-in or ordering a delicious takeaway from our city's restaurants and cafes.
Don't forget to shop local by buying goods, services or gift vouchers in-person or online from the retailers on the list.
Be sure to help to spread the word by snapping a photo of your purchase and sharing it on social media using the #LoveLivo hashtag.
If you're a business owner, you can also share your special offers using that hashtag.
