Chipping Norton resident Harjas Singh - who scored the first century for the Blacktown Mounties club earlier this year - struck his second ton of the season on Saturday.
The 14-year-old hit 120 in fourth grade's total of 197 against Penrith at Jim Hanshaw Oval to take his season tally to 409 runs at an average of 58. His first century (107 not out) came in round two in fifth grade.
The Westfields Sports High School student will be a key component of Mounties Green Shield team who start their campaign on Thursday. The under-16 team play Manly-Warringah at Manly Oval to open their 50-over campaign which is played over seven rounds during December and January.
Mounties' Green Shield team is hitting form at the right time. Mahsen Narvel is another player with his century to his name having hit 102 against Fairfield Liverpool in fourth grade recently.
Gaurav Dogra enters round one off the best weekend in his cricketing life. Gaurav top scored with 95 in second grade's imposing total of 7-337 before backing up on Sunday to hit 161 not out in the Poidevin-Gray Shield.
His innings, which included 19 boundaries and five sixes, helped Mounties chase down Hawkesbury's total of 295 with more than six overs to spare. The win keeps Mounties unbeaten record intact and on top of the Thunder conference.
Yuvraj Sharma hit 65 to keep Fairfield Liverpool's finals chance alive as they defeated Western Suburbs by seven wickets. The Lions are in fifth spot and play fourth-placed Sydney University in the final round on January 19.
The Lions start their Green Shield season against UTS North Sydney at Rosedale Oval on Thursday. Play starts at 10am.
