Graden and Cherilyn Leong are a legitimate power couple. Literally, power, strength and a commitment to succeed.
The bodybuilding couple completed a remarkable comeback year on the circuit with success at the recent ICN World Championships at the Melbourne Fitness Show.
For Graden, who was crowned Mr World Champion and first overall in the classic physique category, it caps a flawless campaign with victory in every natural bodybuilding show entered in 2019 including the Natural Bodybuilding Australia state titles and ICN city nationals. Not bad for someone six years out of the game.
For wife Cherilyn it has been seven years away from bodybuilding after having children Maximus and Alexis. She finished third in the Bikini Momma category at the ICN Worlds following first placings at the ICN NSW state championships, NBA Australia Swimsuit and INBA Worlds.
The pair, who operate Graden's Muscle Factory, or GMF, at Prestons, qualified for the world titles after winning the state and national titles.
They will now take a two-year break from competition to let their bodies recover. Graden, 32, will return to the pro league when he restarts competition.
When asked how he managed to prepare for the "not normal" task of eight competitions in one year he said: "I had to be mentally strong."
