Our pet of the week is Freddy, a male kelpie crossbreed who's black-and-brown, about four months old and medium in size. He's a lovable pup who's super playful and intelligent, the shelter staff said. With his stunning, shiny, black-and-brown coat, he's quite the looker.
Freddy is a young boy and knows how to sit but needs an owner who'll continue training him and keep him active.
He's a big sucker for toys. He carries his squeaky teddy in his mouth when walking on a lead and even pushes his tennis balls under the gate of his yard to tempt anyone walking past to throw it back to him.
He's keen to settle into a home with lots of yard space and toys to keep him entertained and maybe even another doggy friend. You're welcome to bring yours out to the shelter to meet him for a match-up.
As pet of the week, Freddy's adoption fee is just $150 (usually $368). This includes microchipping, desexing, vaccination, flea treatment, worming and lifetime NSW registration.
Ask yourself: Can I handle a puppy best or would a mature dog be better? What size dog is best for me? Should the dog have endless energy? Is my home noisy or quiet?
