POLICE | Teen dies after car rolls at Cowra, three critical in Liverpool, Westmead and Royal North Shore hospitals

A teenager has died and another three are in a critical condition in Liverpool, Westmead and Royal North Shore hospitals after a single-car crash at Cowra yesterday afternoon.

About 3pm on Sunday, September 15, officers from five emergency services were called to Darbys Falls Road, near Porters Mount Road, where a car had crashed.

A Holden sedan, carrying four people, was being driven westbound when it left the road, crashed into a tree and rolled.

Police, ambulance paramedics, Fire & Rescue, Police Rescue and Rural Fire Service officers attended.

A passenger, a boy, 17, died at the scene.

The three other occupants were removed from the car and taken from the scene via road ambulance before being airlifted to hospital.

The driver, a young man, 18, was taken to Liverpool hospital.

Two passengers were taken to other hospitals. A girl, 17, was taken to Royal North Shore hospital and a young man, 19, was taken to Westmead hospital.

A crime scene was established and Crash Investigation Unit officers were in attendance to determine the circumstances of the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Darbys Falls Road was closed. Eastbound traffic was being diverted to Camp Road and westbound traffic was being diverted to Jukes Lane.
