POLICE | Man charged over alleged Wetherill Park shooting

A man was due to face court on Saturday charged over an alleged shooting in public at Wetherill Park.

About 2am on Friday, September 13, police were called to Hargreaves Place following reports a shot had been fired at a commercial property.

Inquiries revealed a single round had been fired into the door of the property.

There were no injuries as a result of the shooting.

Fairfield police officers established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Following investigations, Fairfield detectives, helped by the Tactical Operations Unit, searched a home at Kemps Creek about 5.30pm on Friday.

A man, 28, was arrested at the property and taken to Fairfield police station.

He was charged with discharging a firearm intending to cause serious physical harm, having an unregistered and unauthorised pistol in public and not leaving a premises when required.

He was refused bail to be in Parramatta bail court later on Saturday.
