Ashcroft High School has a long and proud legacy in Rugby League and they continued that on Monday, August 19 as some of their teams were in the NSW All-Schools Carnival at Whalan Oval at Tregear.
The carnival involves teams from across NSW who qualify through regional competition held earlier in the year.
Ashcroft had two sides go through in the boys, the under-13s and under-15s as well as the under-14s girls, making Ashcroft the only school with three teams competing at the NSW level.
The under-13s were dominant throughout the pool stages and semi final defeating all of their opponents by at least 20 points.
In the final they came up against St Joesph's Aberdeen from Newcastle at St Marys Stadium.
The man of the match, Chase Hepi, scored a double with Amazon Pua'vase converting the second try for Ashcroft to lead 10-0 at half-time.
A huge defensive effort only allowed one late try, leading to a 10-4 win by Ashcroft, making them the 2019 NSW All-Schools Champions.
The under-15s finished third after close losses in the first two pool matches against De La Salle College and St Edwards before overcoming Chifley College and Picton High.
The under-14s girls played in a nine-a-side competition where several Ashcroft players were playing up an age group. They finished in the top eight.
