POLICE | Murder charge laid after Eastern Creek assault

A man, 34, has been charged with murder after another man, also 34, died in Westmead hospital not long after he was rushed there after being assaulted at EasternCreek yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called to a home on Cable Place shortly before 1am on Sunday, August 11, where they found a man with a serious head injury.

A crime scene was established at the home.

Ambulance paramedics began CPR on the injured man and MountDruitt police officers arrested the other man at the scene.

The injured man was taken to Westmead hospital in a critical condition. He died soon after arriving at the hospital.

The second man was taken to Mount Druitt police station where he was assisting investigators with their enquiries into the incident.

He's been charged with murder and refused bail to be in Mount Druitt court today, Monday, August 12.
