The construction industry is getting the site right, as shown by results from the recent Get the Site Right campaign targeting erosion and sediment control on building sites across Sydney, including Campbelltown Council and Liverpool Council.

It's good news for urban waterways, including the GeorgesRiver, as an estimated 95 per cent of contaminants in the Georges River/BotanyBay estuary is from stormwater runoff.

Summary:

  • 1182 inspections;
  • 748 (63 per cent) sites compliant;
  • 433 (37 per cent) sites non-compliant;
  • $290,700 fines issued; and
  • 13 per cent improvement in compliance from May 2018.
