AFL NSW/ACT Local Area Manager Greg Talbot said that having access to elite players was hugely beneficial for local participants.

"For these kids to have unlimited access to AFL superstars and their heroes really inspires the kids and gives them the belief that hard work pays off," said Talbot.

"They realise that one day, they too could be playing in the AFL."

Talbot said clubs involved included the Liverpool Eagles, Southwest Tigers, Fairfield Falcons and Camden Blues and that the night gave the clubs a fantastic opportunity for teams to engage in a fun, social AFL setting and encourages kids to want to continue with their footy.

"The highlight of events like this is seeing our local kids interacting with senior players and receiving some first-hand coaching and instructions," said Talbot.

"To receive ruck coaching from Shane Mumford and goal kicking from Toby Greene and Harry Himelberg is a priceless experience for these kids."
