A VoyagerPoint man, 39, is due in court next month after being detected while driving at LucasHeights with an alleged blood-alcohol reading of 0.262.

About 2.15pm last Friday, July 5, Sutherland highway-patrol officers stopped the driver of a Red Honda Jazz who was detected travelling at 95km/h on Heathcote Road.

That section of Heathcote Road has a signposted speed limit of 70km/h.

The car was stopped and police spoke to the Voyager Point man who was driving.

A roadside breath-test returned a positive result and subsequent breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.262.

His driver's licence was suspended and he was issued an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h.

He was charged with driving with a high-range PCA and is due in Sutherland court on August 15.
