PETS OF THE WEEK | Lizzie and Luke are a loveable couple each seeking homes

Meet Lizzie, a female mixed breed whose colouring is white and brindle. She's about 12 months and is large, at 18.2 kilos. Luke is a male bull Arab whose colouring is white and black. He's also about 12 months and large.

Lizzie is a charming dog seeking an active, loving home. She's super-affectionate, friendly and energetic. A quick learner, she knows "sit" and is quickly getting the hang of "drop". After zooming around the shelter's big yard, she likes to settle by staff's sides and just be near. Staff think she'd best suit and feel safest in a home where she can be your only pet as she does get anxious when other dogs bark.

When it comes to Luke, are you a big-dog loving person? Then you should adopt Luke. He's good-natured and playful and could be your best mate. He does require daily reminders of some basic training. He can "sit" and "wait" but his manners greatly improve after he's burnt off energy running around. He can be a bit of a big boof and thinks jumping up is great fun. He needs a strong and confident owner to tell him "no". He loves playing fetch. He's a lot of fun and throwing the ball could be a good reward for him. Visit the shelter with your dog for a match-up with Lizzie or Luke.

Lizzie's and Luke's adoption fees are just $150 each (usually $368). Covers microchipping, desexing, vaccination, flea treatment, worming and registration.
