A high-ranking member of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang was arrested at EdmondsonPark on Sunday morning and due in Liverpool court on Monday after Strike Force Raptor police seized a semi-automatic assault rifle during a firearms-prohibition order search at GlenmorePark in January.
As part of ongoing targeting of the illicit activities of motorcycle gangs, Strike Force Raptor ran a firearms prohibition-order search at a home on Dara Crescent on January 10.
Police seized a semi-automatic assault rifle which was forensically examined and is now undergoing ballistic examination.
Following further inquiries, a man, 40, was arrested by Strike Force Raptor police at a home at Edmondson Park about 8.30am on Sunday.
He was taken to Liverpool police station and charged with having an unregistered and prohibited firearm, having a shortened firearm without authority, acquire a prohibited firearm subject to a prohibition order and not storing a firearm safely.
The EdmondsonPark man, a high-ranking member of the Finks motorcycle gang, was refused bail to be in Liverpool court on Monday.
Strike Force Raptor was established in 2009 and does proactive investigations and intelligence-based high-impact policing operations to prevent and disrupt conflicts and dismantle organised criminal networks.
