An EagleVale man, 40, is due in Liverpool court in August, the fifth person charged as part of an ongoing investigation into drug supply in the Newcastle area.

In February, Newcastle detectives established Strike Force Toocooya to investigate heroin in the Newcastle area.

Four people had been charged with more than 400 offences as part of the strike force and they remain before the courts.

Following inquiries by strike-force detectives, about 9.20am yesterday, Newcastle detectives went to a home on Gould Road at Eagle Vale and spoke to a man, 40.

He was arrested and taken to Campbelltown police station.

He was charged with supplying prohibited drugs in a greater-than-indictable quantity (x 3), supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and supplying prohibited drugs in a greater-than-commercial quantity.

He was granted conditional bail to be in Liverpool court on August 21.
