POLICE | Mother crashes into a fence, unaccompanied learner fined $860, four men wanted, and other police news of the week

A mother, 43, has been charged with mid-range drink-driving after hitting a fence with an unrestrained toddler standing on the front seat of her car at Heckenberg last Wednesday. About 9.30pm, police were called to Eucumbene Crescent and stopped a white Holden Rodeo Utility moving slowly after having hit a fence. Police saw a young girl, 2, standing unrestrained on the front seat. Police gave the female driver, 43, a breath test, which was positive. She was arrested and taken to Green Valley police station where breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.121.

She was charged with mid-range PCA, not restraining a child and driving with a passenger under 4 in the front of the car. She was given a field court-attendance notice to be in Liverpool court on July 10. Police notified Family & Community Services and the child was placed into her grandmother's care for the time being.

Unaccompanied learner: $860

At noon on Monday, June 17, Fairfield police stopped a male driver on Townview Road at MountPritchard. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was unable to produce a driver's licence. Checks revealed the driver held only a learner's licence.

When asked why he was driving, he said: "I just needed to go to the shops." The CanleyHeights man, 26, was given an infringement notice for $860 for being unaccompanied as a learner driver.

Four men are wanted by police

Officers from Strike Force Radius have asked for public help to find four men wanted on outstanding warrants including one known to frequent Cabramatta and Sadleir. Last August, Oxley detectives established Strike Force Radius to investigate drugs and firearms at Tamworth. So far, 17 people have been charged with a total of 142 charges. Police have issued arrest warrants for four men.

PhuVanLam, 32, is wanted over an outstanding warrant for drugs. He's described as being of Asian appearance, about 175cm tall, of thin build, with black hair and brown eyes. He's known to frequent Cabramatta and Sadleir. Hayden Lansdown, 23, is wanted over two outstanding warrants for firearms and drugs. He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of thin build, with brown hair and blue eyes. Ashley Hoye, 41, is wanted over an outstanding arrest warrant for drugs. He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm to 190cm tall, of solid build, with brown hair and blue eyes. He's known to frequent the CentralCoast.

Ethan Johnson, 21 is wanted over an outstanding warrant for drugs. He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, of solid build, with brown hair. He's known to frequent Tamworth, Narrabri and Moree. You're urged not to approach these men but to call triple-0 immediately.

Disqualified until 2046

At 11.50am on Tuesday last week, Fairfield police tried to stop the driver of a Toyota Aurion on Kihilla Street at FairfieldHeights. The driver accelerated harshly and a police chase was initiated around several streets at Fairfield Heights. The vehicle was found on Maud Street and a man was arrested on Tyrell Crescent at FairfieldWest. Checks revealed he was already disqualified from driving until November 2046. The Fairfield man, 35, was charged with causing a police chase, dangerous driving and disqualified driving. Bail was refused. He's due in Fairfield court on August 7.

Cabramatta man drink-driving

At 12'30am last Friday, June 21, Fairfield police stopped the driver of a vehicle on Humphries Road at MountPritchard. The driver produced a valid driver's licence, then recorded a positive breath test. The subsequent breath analysis recorded a reading of 0.099. The Cabramatta man, 62, was charged with mid-range drink-driving and is due in Liverpool court on July 10. His licence was suspended immediately.

Six cars damaged with a rock

At 2am on Tuesday last week, Fairfield police arrested a Fairfield man, 34, on Marlborough Street at Fairfield after cars had been damaged with a rock on Granville Street, Smart Street and Marlborough Street. The man was charged with damaging property (x 6). Bail was refused. He's due in Fairfield court on June 24.
