POLICE | Carnes Hill driver charged over Narellan pedestrian's death

A CarnesHill woman, 60, has been charged after a pedestrian died in hospital following the crash at Narellan last month.

A Narellan woman, 81, was walking across Camden Valley Way about 1.30pm on May 9 when she was allegedly hit by a BMW being driven east.

The Carnes Hill driver stopped and helped her, assisted by bystanders.

Camden police officers established a crime scene and with the help of the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit began investigating the circumstances of the crash.

The victim was taken to Liverpool hospital in a critical condition where she later died.

The driver was uninjured but was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

About 3pm yesterday, Thursday, June 13, the driver went to Liverpool police station and spoke with investigators.

She was charged with dangerous driving causing death and negligent driving causing death.

She was granted conditional bail to be in Campbelltown court on July 8.

Her drivers' licence was suspended.
