Liverpool police are investigating a home invasion at Casula overnight.

About 10.45pm last night, Tuesday, June 11, emergency services were called to a home on Hitter Avenue after reports of a home invasion.

Police have been told four or five men wearing dark clothing entered the home and assaulted two male occupants, 18 and 22, with bars.

The victims were forced into the backyard before being further assaulted with shovels.

The group stole property and cash before fleeing.

Liverpool police officers attended and established a crime scene.

Both victims were taken to hospital in a stable condition, the younger man with suspected arm and rib fractures.

A woman and child were also at home at the time but were uninjured.

Initial inquiries suggest it may have been a targeted attack. Investigations are continuing.
