PET OF THE WEEK | Got a home for loveable Billy?

Our pet of the week is Billy, a large male bull Arab who's white in colouring and about three years old.

Billy is an energetic and intelligent dog, hugely affectionate and keen to please. He's a gorgeous dog, say staff at the animal shelter and he has them "all wrapped around his soft white paws".

He enjoys tummy rubs, treats, playing ball and running around like a goofball but does not like unfamiliar people, cats or other small animals. So a home with no other dogs or pocket pets would be required.

A home with an experienced big-dog owner who's confident to manage him on walks would be ideal as Billy does love to chase birds, cats and other things that interest him. Also, a lead will always be needed on walks.

Billy is not a dog-park kind of pooch but he'd love playing ball in the yard or going for a bushwalk on his lead.

High ColorBond fencing and a secure backyard dog enclosure would be ideal.

As Pet of the Week, Billy's adoption fee is just $150 (usually $368). This includes microchipping, desexing, vaccination, flea treatment, worming and lifetime registration in NSW.

If you'd like to adopt her ask yourself the following questions: Can I handle a puppy best or would a mature dog actually be better? What size dog is best for me? Should the dog have endless energy or be a couch potato to watch TV with? Is my home noisy or quiet?
