What a night! In March we had a very first keystone event for the Liverpool Chamber of commerce and it was a fantastic evening.
Our guests were Football Federation Australia CEO David Gallop and our very own Mark Bosnich. The main topic of the night was adversity and the challenges they had in their respective careers and how they overcame them.
The most important lesson was it's important to have people and processes. If you surround yourself with good people and have the correct processes in place, it becomes easy to overcome whatever issues you experience and succeed in your chosen career. They also discussed leadership and how important it is to be a leader in your field and how you have a responsibility to inspire other people so they can achieve the very best they can. Inspiration fuels the younger generation to believe they too can represent Australia.
Mr Gallop also touched on the new franchise that's coming to Campbelltown. He said Liverpool was in the running and we were a serious option and the only reason it went to Campbelltown was because they already have a stadium.
It was good to hear that we are an option and it's possible that the council and government could work together to build a stadium for Liverpool so we can hold our own sporting events and have our own soccer team, inject tourism dollars into the region.
We also honoured Geoff Shelton and Harry Hunt have been proud members of the Chamber for more than 20 years and have both served on the board.
