POLICE | Two men charged over fatal Melbourne shooting extradited back to Victoria after one treated at Liverpool hospital

A second man has faced court after being arrested in south-west Sydney on a warrant for a Melbourne shooting, which left a man dead and injured two men.

About 10pm on March 1, Victoria  Police were called to a venue on Racecourse Road at Kensington in Victoria, after reports of a shooting.

Police found three men – 30, 32, and 34 – with gunshot wounds.

The younger man died at the scene, while the other two men were taken to hospital where they are being treated.

An investigation was launched by Victoria Police’s homicide squad and Taskforce Echo who asked NSW  Police’s criminal groups squad to help after learning three other men may have travelled interstate.

After more inquiries, two men – 25 and 28 – were engaged by the Tactical Operations Unit at a Bankstown unit block, just after 9.30pm last Friday, March 8.

The younger man was charged for murder under a Victorian arrest warrant and was in court next day. He's since been extradited by Victoria Police.

The older man was treated at Liverpool hospital before being taken to Bankstown police station on March 11 and charged for murder under a Victorian arrest warrant.

He was in Bankstown court next day where Victorian detectives applied for and were granted his extradition to Melbourne.
