Fair Trading has published its latest complaints register with fewer real-estate traders on it. I’m glad to see recurring traders have lifted their standards. With over 45,000 complaints from consumers each year across the board, a public complaints register gives businesses the incentive to deliver better service and helps consumers make informed decisions about where they spend. We hope all traders on the register work with our case managers to recognise and address marketplace trends affecting consumers. We’ll keep working with traders who repeatedly appear on the register to maintain consumer rights.
