Two popular trends from 2018 that have kept pace with the new calendar year are embracing anything and everything green, and soft, muted tones.
This year however, we’re seeing the two merge as one, to create what is destined to become a new decor favourite – pastel green.
This is a particularly strong look for a modern kitchen, where a soft, vintage pastel green can psychologically impart a sense of energy, optimism and purpose.
There are no rules and no limitations, as Smeg has demonstrated by injecting a feel-good shot of green into a range of their products, everything from the freestanding cooker and iconic retro refrigerator, to kitchen appliances such as their toaster, kettle, blender and stand mixer.
Dulux’s summer trends palette for 2019 also focuses on soft minimalism, and gentle, nurturing colours that creates soothing and calming interior spaces.
A wash of pale green look best with pops of yellow or the matte black accents that are also proving to be strong trend this year, all against a backdrop of white or dove grey.
Consider adding a touch of this soothing hue to your kitchen renovation plans, for either the cabinetry or as a paint colour.
Alternatively, you could opt for something more simple and cost effective by going green with your kitchen utensils, artwork, or napkins.
