Liverpool Olympic Football Club officially celebrated their new floodlights at Hoxton Park Reserve recently.

A federal government grant with help from Liverpool Council and councillor Tony Hadchiti helped light up the park which will make it a safer environment by providing adequate light and space for  training.

Club benefactors, foundation and life members and former committee members joined the current committee, as well as current coaches and managers for the official turning on of the lights.

Also in attendance were councillor Geoff Shelton and Southern Districts Soccer Football Association representatives Tony Papallo and Nick Liberatore. Club president Kevin Filipakis thanked everyone who was involved in the project.  “It’s exciting for everyone. I want to thank the federal government and Liverpool Council for the light., I want to thank Southern Districts for their support, [Liverpool Olympic] is a good club and we want to make it a better club,” he said.
