POLICE ROUNDUP | Man stabbed in Liverpool CBD

Liverpool police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a man was stabbed in Liverpool about 7pm on November 1. Police were called to Castlereagh Street. Emergency services arrived and paramedics treated a man in his 20s with a stab wound to the abdomen. Police arrived and established a crime scene near the Elizabeth Drive intersection. Police have spoken to several witnesses. Investigators have appealed for information about a man who may be able to help with inquiries. He was described as 183cm tall with dark, curly hair and possibly wearing a red or maroon singlet. He was seen to leave the area on foot.

  • Investigators have appealed for anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident or with information about the stabbing to come forward. 

Asleep in car, suspected stolen

Following information from the public, Liverpool police went to Dalmeny Drive at Prestons and found a man, 30, and a woman, 25, asleep in a car reportedly stolen. Both were arrested and taken to Liverpool police station. A search of the car returned items suspected to have been stolen in a break-and-enter at Smithfield. The woman was released without charge. The man was charged with break, enter and steal, goods in custody, driving a car without consent and disqualified driving. He was refused bail and was due in Liverpool court on October 30. 

Trio arrested over attack

About 9pm on October 29, a girl, 17, went to a friend's house at Cartwright where it’s alleged she was set upon by two females and assaulted about the body and head. A man recorded the attack on a phone. The victim was able to leave and get help from neighbours. Police arrived soon after and arrested two women, both 18, and a man, 25. The three were taken to Liverpool police station and charged with offences including detaining for advantage, robbery in company, being armed with Intent and intimidation. They were refused bail and were due in Liverpool court on October 30. 

Cooktop may have started fire

About 4am on November 1, Liverpool police and Fire & Rescue were called to a unit block on Myall Road at Casula over a fire on the second floor. The fire was quickly extinguished but the building was considered structurally unsafe. Some families were moved from the premises due to safety concerns. Police said the fire started on a cooktop of a second-floor unit.

Phone theft attempt at lakes

About 8.15pm on November 1, a man, 30, was running at CecilHills lakes. A man described as Pacific Islander in appearance, early 20s, shaved hair, solid build, about six feet tall, wearing a black hoodie, approached him and demanded his phone.

The offender grabbed him by the shirt to stop him running away. A struggle ensued and the victim broke  free. He ran home and found his earphones and a gold rosary were missing. He went to GreenValley police station to report it. A search of the area failed to find anything.

Arrest over knife threats

About 5.45pm on November 3, Liverpool police were called to Bargo Place at Prestons. A man, 36, was armed with a knife. It’s alleged the victim arrived to meet a friend at the street.

The offender confronted him about his driving and reason for being there. He went home but returned with his partner. He swung a knife. The victim got into a neighbour’s car, with two children in it. The offender hit the car with a bar.

Police arrived, arrested him and took him to Liverpool police station. He was charged with Use Offensive Weapon with Intent, Armed with Intent, Custody of a knife in a Public Place and Malicious Damage. He was refused bail and was in Parramatta court on November 4 and remanded to be in Liverpool court on November 7.
