Kim Wark has been appointed Sales Manager for the Champion, taking over the reins from PhyllisScarfone who has left to pursue other challenges.

Kim grew up in Greystanes and moved to Quakers Hill 10 years ago. She’s worked in sales-management roles for more than 16 years and her new position at Fairfax’s Australian Community Media is Sales Manager – South-West Sydney. She has been at Fairfax for 12 months and says, with a smile “my role has changed four times already – I love it here”.

“I owned and ran my own cafe for two years back in 2002 to 2004 and prior to that I worked as a cake decorator-pastry cook-store manager for six years for the Cake it Away franchise. I’ve always loved cooking.

“Then I worked as a sales manager in the tax and accounting publishing industry for nine years prior to another sales-management and customer-service manager role at Lenovo computers for a year. Then here at Fairfax. I wanted to be working closer to home and also to be working within the community.”

Phyllis Scarfone made many valuable friends among Fairfax staff and clients and is greatly respected by everyone she worked with.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working at Fairfax for a total of 19 years – starting originally in 1991 for 16 years, leaving in 2006, rejoining in 2015,” she said. “Wow! What a journey it’s been and I’ve loved every minute of it. But all things do come to an end and it’s time for a change. I’ll always remain in sales as that’s my passion. Who knows, you may see me back again at Fairfax one day!

“I’d like to thank those whom I’ve worked closely with over the years, particular my fellow local sales managers and all the support teams at Fairfax. Thanks for your support and friendship.

“Special mention to the editorial team, Ian, Chris B, Maddy, Simon and Chris L, and my sales staff, Jenny, Nermin and Jen – you guys rock! I will miss you and I wish the company every success in the future.”
