GROWING THE SOUTH-WEST | New Breeze gets a new oval

Dahua has development approval from CampbelltownCouncil for its $7.7-million Maxwell Creek Oval project at Bardia’s New Breeze estate. The oval, at Parkside (stage 3), will cover about 12,000 square metres and has elevated views from the surrounding area into the precinct.

It will have a large playing oval for cricket and two full-sized fields for rugby league and soccer, a nature-based play area, a lying fox, swings and slides, a picnic area, a shaded barbecue area, a swing, climbing equipment and amenities building for the sports facilities.

Development approval was granted earlier this year for Ingleburn Park and the Northern Corridor, valued about $3.3 million and connected to the oval. Ingleburn Park, more than 4125 square metres, will be an active recreational space with climbing wall, fireman poles, climbing net, slides, play equipment, shelter and seat walling.

The Northern Corridor covers 20,500 square metres and will be a passive and active recreational area with open multi-functional green spaces, footpaths, cycleways and shelters.

Dahua’s EricLi said: “The oval completes our green network, linking pedestrians and cyclists with the sports and recreational facilities. We worked with PlaceDesignGroup to interconnect facilities with the natural landscape and homes. Aptly named Parkside, stage 3 presents buyers with a chance to live among several acres of green open spaces and native bush.”

Place Design’s StevenHolmes said: “The oval will rapidly become a key focal point for the community. The design combines the latest in designated formal sports facilities with current trends in nature play and the creation of an immersive experience.”

Work on the oval is due to start in the first half of next year, with completion by year’s end.

Lot sizes at New Breeze start at 200 square metres with prices from $340,000. All lots are easy-build and in walking distance of Parkside’s recreational facilities. It will have about 1300 new homes with a range of housing types. It’s eight kilometres from te Liverpool CBD.
