Cabramatta driver charged after high-speed pursuit from Bonnyrigg to Rosehill

A man has been charged after a pursuit and crash on Wednesday morning.

It will be alleged in court police attempted to stop a Toyota Corolla on Cabramatta Road West, Bonnyrigg, for a random breath test about 2am (October 3). 

The driver allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated through a number of suburbs, including Wetherill Park, Wentworthville and Rosehill.

The pursuit ended when the driver struck a tree.

The driver, a 36-year-old man from Cabramatta, was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remained under guard.

He was released from hospital on Thursday and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

The man was charged with driving while suspended, fail to stop RBT, negligent driving, not stop – police pursuit, exceeding the speed limit over 45km/hr and three counts of possessing a prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today.
