Three officers injured in crash at Sadleir

Two police officers remain in hospital and one has been released after a police vehicle crashed at Sadleir last night.

About 11.40pm on Monday September 10, officers attached to South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad initiated a pursuit with a silver vehicle  after detecting it was being driven by a suspected disqualified driver.

A short time later, the police vehicle struck a pole at the intersection of Pinnacle and Festival Streets, Sadleir.

The male occupants which included two senior constables and a constable were all taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The driver, a senior constable, 28, suffered a laceration to his forehead and is undergoing surgery.

The front passenger, a senior constable, 28, suffered minor cuts and abrasions.

The rear passenger, a constable, 24, suffered a broken nose, cheek bone and shoulder, and is undergoing surgery for a lip laceration.

The younger senior constable was released from hospital earlier today.

Officers from Liverpool Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Inquiries are continuing to locate the silver vehicle and identify the driver.
