The Southern Districts Soccer Football Association continue to kick goals on and off the pitch.

On Saturday, as the club held its junior presentation to recognise the 2018 football season, the association presented a $5000 cheque to Fairfield Hospital's head of paediatrics Dr Laurence McCleary.

SDSFA technical director Rod Galic was the brains behind the idea to raise money for the hospital’s neonatal unit. Fundraising was done  through a variety of ways, including auctioning off donated signed Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers jerseys. Parents and players could also donate at home game. The money will be used to buy much needed medical equipment for the hospital.

“SDSFA is always looking to provide support and help to members of our local community and especially our most vulnerable; our newborns,” Galic said.

“Next year we want to raise money for Liverpool Hospital.”
