POLICE NEWS | Poured petrol over the counter in Macquarie Street shop

Liverpool police are seeking the public’s help to find a woman whom it is believed may be able to help them with their investigation into an attempt to demand money at a Liverpool store last Saturday.

About 11.30am a woman described as a blonde Caucasian, wearing large sunglasses and a dark throw-over, a pink hooded jumper, dark track pants and light blue joggers, entered a store on Macquarie Street. She allegedly poured petrol onto the counter and threatened to set it alight as she demanded money from the two staff.

The employees retreated from the counter to a back office and the woman left. Police believe the woman then walked from the store to Scott Street, towards the station.

Arrest over break-and-enters

Liverpool anti-theft police searched a Sefton home after investigations into Prestons break-and-enters and the August 31 search of a co-offender’s Casula home. They arrested a Sefton man, 28. A search of the home found clothing worn at the time of the offence and a phone, a car and a small amount of a drug. He was taken to Bankstown police station and charged with breaking in and theft, having a prohibited drug and dealing in the proceeds of crime. He was refused bail to be in Bankstown court last Thursday.

Driver harasses two teenagers

About 4.45pm on September 4 two girls, both 14, were walking along Strzlecki Drive at CarnesHill when a man described as aged 40 to 50, of medium build and height, with greyish light brown hair and wearing a grey shirt, a black hooded jumper, dark blue jeans and glasses, drove past in an orange Subaru hatchback with black trim.

The man alleged;y made indecent gestures towards the girls. Not long afterwards he apparently drove past again and they reported it. He drove into a nearby shopping centre and got out of the car and waved to get the girls’ attention. They walked around a corner out of his sight.
