A man is due in court later today after being extradited from Perth over the fatal shooting at WarwickFarm last month.

About 5.30pm on Sunday, July 22, police went to the unit block on the corner of George and Lachlan streets following reports of a shooting.

Officers found George Nassif, 46, had been shot in the back. Paramedics treated him and he was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.

Strike Force Condan was established by Liverpool police with help from the homicide squad to investigate the shooting murder of Mr Nassif.

Following investigations, WA police arrested a man, 27, on an outstanding warrant in Perth last Monday. Liverpool detectives travelled to Perth on Tuesday and successfully applied for the man’s extradition.

He was brought back to NSW and taken to Liverpool police station where he was charged with murder, aggravated break-and-enter, having an unauthorised pistol, shooting a firearm to cause bodily harm and outstanding warrants.

He was refused bail and is due in Liverpool court later today.
