Four people will face court today charged with drug offences as part of investigations into the supply of illicit drugs across Fairfield.
Fairfield Police Area Command detectives established Strike Force Illumination in June 2018 to investigate the distribution of methylamphetamine (ice) and heroin throughout the area.
Officers stopped a vehicle in Villawood about 11am yesterday (Thursday, August 2), and arrested a 38-year-old man.
A search of the vehicle located drugs, believed to be heroin and ice. The items were seized and will undergo forensic analysis.
Later the same day, strike force detectives executed search warrants at homes on Karoon Avenue, Canley Heights, Flemington Street, St Johns Park, Thorney Road, Fairfield Heights and a unit on Hughes Street at Cabramatta.
Officers seized drugs, including ice, cocaine and heroin, and two firearms.
Two men, aged 33 and 34, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station.
The 38-year-old Canley Heights man was charged with 15 offences including three counts of supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, 11 counts of supplying a prohibited drug and possessing ammunition without holding a licence/permit.
A 33-year-old Fairfield man was charged with possessing ammunition without holding a licence/permit, dealing with property proceeds of crime, three counts of supplying a prohibited drug, taking part in supplying a prohibited drug and supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.
The 34-year-old man from St Johns Park was charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing unregistered firearm – prohibited, supplying a prohibited drug and possessing ammunition without holding a license/permit.
The 39-year-old woman, from Holroyd, was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, resisting anofficer in execution of their duty and two outstanding warrants.
They were all bail refused to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday, August 3).
