A trapped passenger involved in a car crash at Revesby was released and taken to Liverpool Hospital for injuries.
Police are searching for the driver who fled the scene and left the passenger trapped.
About 10.05pm on Wednesday July 11 a Suzuki Vitara was travelling west on Milperra Road, Revesby, when the car struck a power pole.
After the crash, the driver, believed to be a male aged about 25, and of Pacific Islander appearance, fled the scene on foot.
The male passenger was trapped in the wreckage for about half-an-hour, before being released and taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment to chest and leg injuries.
He is understood to be in a stable condition.
Police from Bankstown Police Area Command are working to identify the driver.
He was last seen running east on Milperra Road, towards Stacey Street.
