AMP Capital has completed its second purpose-built facility at Casula’s Crossroad Logistics Centre, a purpose-built regional office for WesTrac, the Caterpillar dealer for NSW, ACT and WA.

Building began last September and the completed facility has about 8000 square metres of workshop/warehouse and office space and about 16,500 square metres of external hardstand for WesTrac, which has a 15-year lease.

AMP managing director (office and industrial) Luke Briscoe said: “We’re thrilled to welcome WesTrac to an exceptional purpose-built facility in what’s become a leading example of a logistics centre community.

“Crossroads represents AMP Capital’s return to industrial development and we couldn’t be prouder of the team’s success, having now committed more than 64,000 square metres in two years.

“We’re focused on creating an environment that delivers an exceptional experience for customers, their staff and guests. The fully-integrated design process between WesTrac and AMP Capital before and during construction was crucial in the success of the purpose-built facility and our customer-led strategy.

“With a distinct lack of well-located, serviced industrial land in south-west Sydney, AMP Capital is responding to customer demand for high-quality industrial and logistics facilities in this growth precinct.”

WesTrac’s Greg Graham said: “The decision to move our Parramatta operations to Crossroads places us closer to more of our customer base, giving us a greater ability to serve and respond to our customers’ needs.

“Casula’s location also provides WesTrac with an enviable position central to infrastructure construction activities in the western Sydney growth corridor and the site is well positioned for our 150 staff to take advantage of local services and activities.”

Australian-owned manufacturer Versiclad has also committed to 4500 square metres on a 12-year term. Building of the purpose-built facility is due to start in coming weeks.

Crossroads Logistics Centre is close to arterial roads, ports, the Moorebank Intermodal hub and Badgerys Creek and Mascot airports, with direct M5 access.
