Holiday workshops: Let your child’s imagination run wild at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, 1 Powerhouse Road, Casula these school holidays. The Fabulous and Fun-Fabric Printing Workshop will let them create simple two-colour stencils on September 28 and 20, 10.30am-3.30pm. In Animate Your Imagination on September 29 children will use Lego to create their own stop-motion animation or they can design and build their own robot on October 3. There’s a clowning and comedy workshop and one for little engineers. Details:

U3A Liverpool: For over 50s. Liverpool University of the Third Age has fun classes. Annual membership: $35. McHappy Day Fairfield: Hoping to raise total of $4.1m, the call is out for the bucket brigade to help Ronald McDonald House Charities on Saturday, October 14. Every cent raised on McHappy Day supports Ronald McDonald programs and services, for which there are waiting lists. Details:

Carers Week: Carers invited to attend a celebration on Friday, October 20, at CORE Community Services, 41 Peel Street, Canley Heights, 10am-2pm. Annual festival: For Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Sunday, October 8, at the community club sport complex, corner Cabramatta and Humphries roads, Mount Pritchard. Paolo Rajo presents floorshow after procession. Solemn High Mass 1.30pm. Facepainting, balloon animals 5pm-7pm. Giant fireworks display. Note that the road will be closed briefly for the procession.
