It was Italian Pasta Day on Thursday at Opal Aged-Care centre at Bossley Park, from 10.30am, when residents and guests got involved in preparing and cooking – and then enjoying – Italian-style pasta.
“We have a large cluster of Italians in our facility and Italian Pasta Day is a big part of our culturally diverse program,” lifestyle officer Rita Napoli said.
“The pasta and sauce was freshly made by the residents and relatives.
“Even the mayor of Fairfield, Frank Carbone, attended.
“We had a wonderful day with good weather and lots of fun while making the fresh pasta and tasty home-made sauce.
“The entertainment was provided by Graziano Ferreri.
“The day was a great success and very much enjoyed by residents, family, staff and our special guests who also included our regional manager, Jonathan Anderson.”
