Four Liverpool locals will be starring in an upcoming production of Annie in Bankstown this month.

The girls, Courtney Emmas, Taliah Sleiman, Stella Coppola, Elena Coppola, will be onstage at the Bryan Brown Theatre, from March 11 to 20.

Courtney, from Chipping Norton, scored the top role of Annie in the production, while Casula girls Taliah, Stella and Elena will play her fellow orphans.

Courtney said she had always loved musical theatre and has watched many productions with her mother.

To be cast in a lead role for my debut was almost unbelievable.

“I haven’t performed in any other productions, I had auditioned for Matilda and the Sound of Music where I made the top 200,” she said.

“To be cast in a lead role for my debut was almost unbelievable.

“When the director called my Mum to offer me the role of Annie I was shocked and thrilled.”

Courtney said she considered being offered a leading role for her first production a big achievement.

“I am loving playing Annie, she is a feisty orphan who just wants to be part of a family,” she said. “It will be a fantastic show with lots of energy.”
